Re: 2010 tour
Bev thought this might help you out with Sunart Centre Strotain

From Fort William take the A82 road south to Glasgow. After 10 miles turn off to the Corran Ferry.

From the south, turn off for the Corran Ferry 10 miles before Fort William

Cross the ferry to Ardgour and turn left. Continue on the A861 main road for 14 miles until you get to Strontian.

If the Corran Ferry is not running, take the A830 from Fort William to Mallaig, and after 12 miles at Kinlocheil turn left on the A861 to Treslaig, Ardgour & Strontian. This route is 48 miles from Fort William to Strontian.

Dont know which gig I am going to yet myself - need to check with mates what one they fancy.

This tour does remind me of the Highland and Islands one so just maybe their might be more to come later on or perhaps the guys just have to many other commitments eg Asia.

We here in Scotland have all been so lucky in the last 3 years with the amount of gigs etc that we have seen the guys at - most groups you are lucky if you see them tour every couple of years.

I for one have not lost interest in them and look forward to seeing them later in the year.

Re: 2010 tour
Dont think we'll be doing much dates this year, since they're all too far up north to bother getting to. Bathgate is probs the closest to us and even that's quite far but, we'll see x

Re: 2010 tour

It’s great to see they’ve announced a tour for this year. Quite a few people don’t seem to like the places they’ll be at, but I think it’s good that they do a variety of places and it’s a chance for the people that do live nearer there to get to see them. I’m sure there would have been other tours they haven’t been able to get to because they’ve been more central etc, so it kind of balances out.

It’s the same for the English fans, wherever the tours are at are always a long way for anyone in England. It involves a lot of travelling (usually at least a 4 hour journey, one way) and costs a fait bit. But every time I’ve done it, it’s definitely been worth it. The guys put on a great show and it’s great to see them still living their dream.

I hope everyone that wants to go to the tour can make at least one of the dates, and if unfortunately you can’t, there’s always next time eh :)

x

Re: 2010 tour

The night they were in Aboyne last year, they will be in Banff this year And the night last year was their second night in Aboyne, they will be in Elgin...TOUR FOR A TOUR WOOHOO! Sorry got a tad excited there...but yeah Donna I agree.. I mean I know what a lot of people are saying about it being like Highlands and Islands, but to be fair with the Xmas Tour, they DID do a lot more central dates. And a lot of the places dont really get many gigs as a whole not just with the Macs, you know unless its some hookter chookter music lol. Me personally? I know the dates Im doing will cost a fortune and beyond, but with now living so close to Glasgow, its gonna be a LOT easier for me to get to,with no three buses each way etc etc,and the notice of the tour means people can now book accommodation earlier and get it cheaper. So personally Im not complaining.

Ach I know people's opinions have changed on the guys and that's fair enough, but all I have to say now is if you're still devoted to the guys, you will make a few gigs (one if thats all you can manage),if your not a fan or have absolutely nothing nice to say then a)why waste your money and b)shut the hell up(oh I can name one person who falls into THIS category!!) and if your a fan but not as big as you used to be then thats fair enough but you will still come to even just one.

Re: 2010 tour
Ok Bev I've decided you're right lol. I got my tickets for Bathgate this morning so if you're going to that one get your tickets now. Wheelchairs are getting the front row just to let you know and apparently it holds 204, so the woman told me lol. I understand what you were saying Bev, about them doing smaller places and I've decided I'm going to do my bit to give the guys my support even though I can only make one gig. No doubt the central belt will get more gigs next time and if not then I suppose a bit of travelling never hurt lol

Re: 2010 tour
I get the impression from reading this that a lot of people are complaining about the places the guys are touring?? Am I picking that up right? Havent seen any myself, but if you think the places the guys are touring this winter is bad, come stand in my shoes!! Living in Northern Ireland is crap when you love a Scottish Band!! I would LOVE to come to even one date as Bev says as a devoted fan but the boat is £200 (we have to take the boat before anyone mentions flights, easier for Teresa) then theres the accommodation and petrol, food & tickets. What me and Teresa would give to live in Scotland (anywhere) you have no idea. So thats my opinion and I'll shut up now :) Lovin the Macs :) x

Tickets booked for Oban - its a first come seating arrangement so will be there nice and early to get tickets.  If i dont see the guys before this it will be a year since I saw them - gonna be a great day and night out.
